Description & Requirements Bloomberg News is seeking a versatile editor in Los Angeles to help lead coverage of entertainment, technology, politics and finance and how these forces are reshaping daily life. The editor will join Bloomberg’s National Team and help drive coverage of some of the most influential industries in the world. Southern California is the center of the entertainment universe -- the hub for Hollywood studios, the music industry and some of the largest gaming companies. Increasingly, it's where technology and entertainment intersect, as artificial intelligence transforms how content is created and monetized.
Beyond entertainment, the region is also home to some of the world’s wealthiest people and most valuable real estate even as it grapples with housing shortages and affordability pressures. In this role, you’ll edit breaking news and ambitious enterprise stories that explain how these industries are evolving, and what those shifts mean for companies, markets and the broader economy. The job calls for strong news judgment, a collaborative approach and the ability to move quickly in a newsroom that prizes speed and accuracy.
The position requires flexibility to work outside regular hours at times and the ability to manage a large volume of stories during busy news cycles.
We’ll trust you to:
Edit breaking news and enterprise stories on entertainment, technology, the economy and business
Guide reporters to land scoops and develop ambitious story ideas
Help ensure regional stories connect to broader national and global themes
Shape digital storytelling, including newsletters and other visual-focused formats
You need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
At least 10 years editing experience
Strong news judgment and interest in companies, markets and politics
Ability to work collaboratively across bureaus and teams
A comfort level with editing fast-moving stories on deadline
Salary Range = 120000 - 165000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
We offer one of the most comprehensive and generous benefits plans available and offer a range of total rewards that may include merit increases, incentive compensation (exempt roles only), paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k) +match, life insurance, and various wellness programs, among others. The Company does not provide benefits directly to contingent workers/contractors and interns.
