Communication Specialist II / Digital Content Specialist
Position Summary The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for managing digital content assets (text, images, video) across multiple digital platforms, including external and internal websites and applications. This role supports key web properties such as duke-energy.com and piedmontng.com and requires strong CMS experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Build, edit, and publish web pages using a content management system (CMS)
Ensure all digital content aligns with brand standards, voice, and digital guidelines
Deliver high-quality work on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives
Manage projects from initiation through completion with strong attention to detail
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, copywriters, designers, and stakeholders
Follow established workflows and governance processes
Provide scheduled after‑hours web support (on‑call rotation)
Support urgent web updates during critical events as needed
Required Qualifications
Experience with digital content management systems (CMS)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Sitecore CMS
Knowledge of SEO, AEO, accessibility, HTML, analytics, and web best practices
Familiarity with cross‑channel digital integration
Experience with tools such as Jira, SharePoint 365, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
