Work Schedule Full Time Onsite. 2 Hybrid days after 90 days of training. Monday - Friday. 8am to 4:30pm (Flexible).

Job Summary This position is a Blood Donor Marketing role focused exclusively on supporting blood collection goals for the Blood Donor Center. The Marketing Coordinator partners closely with Donor Services leadership to plan and execute targeted, monthly donor recruitment and retention campaigns that increase blood donations. The role combines marketing, community outreach, customer service, and relationship‑building to educate the public about the importance of blood donation and to support the day‑to‑day needs of the Blood Donor Center.

Responsibilities Plans, develops and provides effective marketing and project planning strategies to recruit, cultivate, retain and manage blood drive sponsors and events in order to achieve blood collection goals. Generates and develops potential blood drive leads, delivers educational presentations regarding blood donation drive requirements and goals and develops special donor recognition programs.

Create/Implement monthly marketing campaigns targeting internal/external markets. Design all collateral, such as fliers, post cards, sponsor packets, brochures, posters, donor gifts, and awards. Negotiates and manages purchase orders on outsourced materials in order to obtain the best value. Research and collaborate with local businesses/organizations who wish to contribute in kind donations for the donor program to use as incentives for potential donors. Work with internal/external outlets to promote monthly campaign.

Generate and maintain bloodmobile, donor center and platelet donor accounts. Identify new accounts through market research. Plan and implement effective marketing/sales strategies to establish new blood drive partners with corporate, educational and religious groups. Develop strategies and prepares proposals to negotiate verbal contracts with future blood drive partners regarding their blood program support. Relationship management is achieved through partner visits, emails, phone calls and helps provide excellent customer service.

Recommends overall recruitment plans and strategies to achieve long and short‑term goals.

Maintain the blood donor center’s social media presence. Create and implement specific face book campaigns & regularly update donor center’s face book page and track impact. Research and implement new ways to build face book site and add applications. Participate in the MGH Social Media Board and collaborate with other MGH marketing employees on projects.

Actively works with the MGH Public Affairs Department to promote the mission of the MGH Blood Donor Center. Represents the MGH Blood Donor Center on hospital committees and events.

Educate the general public and prospective donors on the needs and uses of blood. Presents at MGH & Spaulding new employee hire orientations. Participates in monthly hall table to educate MGH visitors and employees about the need for blood donations. Visits bloodmobile accounts to provide further education about donation is requested.

Initiates market research and implement market surveys and uses data to formulate new campaigns, advise on staffing formulas, track efficiency.

Participates in the evaluation of new equipment and reports findings to Medical Director.

Addresses all customer service issues by acting as the liaison between donors, collection staff and blood drive coordinators. Participates in developing and presenting customer service training to department staff. Assess customer satisfaction through surveys. Provides customer satisfaction by efficiently scheduling bloodmobilies and in house appointments, maintaining an appropriate donor flow. Analyze platelet donor scheduling through time studies, changes in process and donor requests to maintain adequate throughput.

Must be able to work individually as well as in a team, be well organized, detail oriented, possess excellent time management and problem‑solving skills. Should be self‑motivated and be able to multitask. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a broad range of people are required.

Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required.

Experience: Marketing Experience 2-3 years required. Basic competency with Adobe Photo Shop. Previous experience working in a blood donor center, blood bank, transfusion services, or similar blood collection environment, with direct exposure to donor recruitment, donor services, or donor engagement activities. Familiarity with blood donation operations, donor eligibility considerations, and donor experience best practices.
