Multi-Media Journalist/News Producer Las Vegas, NV | Full Time
Job Summary As a Multimedia Journalist, you assist with various aspects of news production. You are responsible for shooting, writing, editing, and publishing content, coordinating and conducting interviews, and representing the station in community‑related events. The News Producer is responsible for the development and organization of local newscasts including writing, story development, showcasing, and overseeing the live broadcast and real‑time editorial decisions.
Candidates will work closely with the News Director, Assignment Editor, and MMJs to determine content needs. Qualified candidates will be key in enhancing the content of the rundown with graphics, video, research and station branding.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being able to write clearly for multiple platforms and posting content to the station website.
Skills and Abilities
Qualified candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and must have a passion for great visual storytelling, and should be able to write clearly for television broadcasts.
The candidate should be an energetic, experienced journalist who works well in an often‑fast paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
Strong written, organizational, communication and writing skills are a must, as is a keen editorial judgment and ability to handle breaking news.
Candidates must have knowledge of and demonstrate creative skills, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.
Essential Functions
Develop interesting story ideas using strong editorial judgment. Assist in coordinating interviews and logistics for field crews.
Facilitate the news gathering process and ensure comprehensive coverage of all stories across all platforms.
Develop enterprise story ideas consistent with the Entravision news brand.
Cultivate contacts important to news coverage in the market, including law enforcement.
Write compelling stories for newscasts.
Call sources and follow up on leads, identifying the most compelling video and sound.
Master the station’s graphics system and use all of the available information and media to craft compelling and accurate daily stories online and on air.
Work closely with fellow producers, anchors, reporters, and control room operators to ensure technically flawless newscasts.
Shoot, write, and edit daily stories.
Coordinate, organize, and conduct interviews.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts providing access to exclusive stories.
Assist producers in establishing sources, finding and executing enterprise news investigations, building and maintaining a strong list of story ideas.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or related field.
Must be fluent in Spanish (high level of reading, writing, and speaking the language is essential).
Must have strong English reading, writing and speaking skills.
Reporting, shooting, writing, and editing experience with a good ratings track record.
Be informed on news events locally and nationally.
Knowledge of INews and Adobe Premiere editing software preferred.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a Full‑Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary. Must be willing to undertake shift work associated with working for a 24/7 news operation. Must be able to work holidays.
Reports directly to News Director.
