The Realty Specialist (Real Property Specialist) will provide comprehensive real property management services in support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Albuquerque Area Office (AAO). This role ensures effective acquisition, management, utilization, reporting, and disposal of Government-owned real property capital assets, as well as oversight of the Government Quarters Program. These services are essential to maintaining regulatory compliance, financial accountability, and operational readiness across IHS facilities within the Albuquerque Area.

Summary of Responsibilities

Manages leases, Tribal agreements, easements, licenses, and space use instruments.

Maintains real property and inventories; oversees QMIS/QTIS accuracy and rental compliance.

Conducts program reviews, lease inspections, and ensures adherence to Federal property and lease regulations.

Coordinates with GSA, Engineering Services, Tribal officials, and Service Units on leasing, space planning, and compliance.

Maintains real property financial records, capitalization, depreciation, and asset accountability.

Provides technical guidance, reports, analyses, and documentation to leadership.

Requirements The

Realty Specialist

shall meet the following job requirements:

Minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in real property management

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Federal agencies.

Demonstrated professional experience managing complex P.L. 94-437 leases, agreements, and easements involving Government-owned real property.

Experience maintaining inventories of quarters and other Government-owned real property assets.

Knowledge of Federal lease laws, regulations, and procedures.

Ability to interpret Federal property policies and apply them to operational requirements.

Security Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a federal security investigation (background check) in order to obtain a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Public Trust security clearance prior to start. The background investigation reviews employment, criminal, financial, and personal history to ensure there are no outstanding violations. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen to work in support of a federal agency.
