
Executive Director, Campaign Strategy

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Executive Director, Campaign Strategy to provide senior-level leadership for the planning, execution, and successful completion of the University’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, projected to exceed $800 million. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, this position serves as a key strategic partner to the President, Provost, Deans, the Foundation Board of Trustees, and advisory boards, shaping campaign strategy and driving disciplined progress toward ambitious philanthropic goals. Serving as the strategic architect and integrator of the campaign, the Executive Director aligns cross-unit efforts across the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, Office of Research and Innovation, schools and colleges, and Intercollegiate Athletics.
The role ensures cohesion and collaboration across fundraising, donor engagement, communications, analytics, and volunteer leadership, while sustaining momentum, accountability, and institutional alignment throughout all campaign phases. The Executive Director leads campaign planning, execution, and evaluation from inception through completion, including oversight of a donor pipeline exceeding $1 billion to support long-term fundraising success.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degreeand five (5) years of related professional work experience OR
Master’s Degree and (3) three years of related professional work experience OR
Doctorate Degree and one (1) year of related professional work experience.
Related Professional Experience:
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale fundraising campaigns, including successful solicitation of major and/or principal gifts.
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior leaders, trustees, and high-level volunteers in complex institutional environments.
- Experienced with fundraising data, analytics, CRM systems, and project management systems to inform strategy and measure progress.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
