Job Details
We are seeking a Director of Independent Living Services to oversee and lead independent living and residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
This leadership role is responsible for program operations, compliance, staffing, and service quality, ensuring all services meet NJ DDD regulations, Medicaid billing standards, and ISP requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead independent living services, residential services, and IDD programs
Oversee program operations, staffing models, and service delivery
Ensure compliance with NJ regulations, Medicaid billing, and quality standards
Manage admissions, enrollment, and participant lifecycle
Supervise and develop program managers and leadership staff
Partner cross-functionally with HR, IT, Facilities, and Transportation
Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective action plans
Manage budgets, reporting, and financial compliance
Provide on-call leadership support for emergencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education, Human Services, or related field
5–7+ years leadership experience in IDD, residential services, or independent living programs
Strong knowledge of NJ DDD regulations and Medicaid billing
Experience with EHR systems and program compliance
Proven leadership in staff management and program operations
This role is ideal for a Program Director, Residential Manager, or Assistant Director ready to step into a senior leadership position.
