Role Description

The Finance Director is a full-time, on-site position based in Brunswick, Maine. The role involves overseeing the financial operations of the Town, including financial planning, budget preparation, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include monitoring financial performance, preparing financial statements, developing strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and advising leadership on fiscal matters. The Director will work collaboratively with various departments to ensure responsible and effective allocation of resources.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Financial Planning and Finance, including budget preparation and resource allocation
  • Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
  • Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate financial data and support decision-making processes
  • Leadership ability with proven skills in working collaboratively across departments
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of municipal finance and government operations is a plus
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
