Senior Underwriter

We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Property Team. This will be a remote role based in San Francisco, California. Possible consideration for Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego or Denver. When it comes to underwriting insurance products for well-known famous sports venues, sports/entertainment facilities, major airlines, retail/wholesale companies, banks and manufacturers, we do it all! As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in driving the profitability and growth of our Property Line of Business (LoB). Your expertise will ensure that new and renewal business meets our targets, while adhering to underwriting guidelines and authority. You will be instrumental in negotiating price, terms, and conditions, and will take ownership of key accounts and clients. By developing and maintaining strong relationships with producers and clients, in partnership with Market Management, you will contribute significantly to our success. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Underwrite profitable new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers. Evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation and ensure an understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios. Ensure contract certainty at inception and utilize global pricing tools effectively. Manage policy documentation and administration, ensuring accurate issuance and file maintenance. Support the development and execution of regional underwriting strategy, including training and coaching of less experienced staff. Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, liaising with Market Management on initiatives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders, positively representing AGCS externally. What you'll bring to the role: Proven track record in underwriting profitable business within the Property Line of Business, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience. Advanced skills in risk assessment and management, with the ability to assess inherent exposures and natural hazards. Intermediate expertise in pricing and market management, analyzing performance against benchmarks. Robust understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape. Intermediate skills in contract drafting and interpretation, with a solid understanding of the legal and regulatory framework. Advanced knowledge of policy management, including the policy administration life cycle. Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization, with a strategic orientation and entrepreneurial mindset. A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
