The Sanofi Patient Support Services (PSS) team supports patients seeking access to Sanofi therapies through programs that provide reimbursement and logistics support, financial assistance, and patient education. The PSS organization also includes field teams that provide education and support to patients and customers.
Position Overview
As the Director of Affordability in the newly formed Center of Excellence (COE) within Patient Support Services (PSS), you will be responsible for developing and implementing the medical benefit (MB) affordability strategy for existing and upcoming launch assets across Sanofi’s Specialty Care business units. This role ensures affordability offerings are effectively implemented and evolve in response to market dynamics, supporting patient access to therapies. The role will oversee affordability education, copay vendor relationships, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize affordability initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive affordability strategy for assets operating under the medical benefit design in preparation for launch assets.
Ensure the strategy aligns with the company’s mission and goals, focusing on improving patient access to treatments.
Identify opportunities to address key affordability and access challenges as the coverage and policy landscape evolves.
Educate Buy-and-Bill practices, sites of care, and patients with prescriptions covered under a medical benefit plan about the copay benefit offerings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate market insights into program enhancements and educate stakeholders on changes and impact.
Partner with Analytics & Reporting to develop standard dashboards for medical benefit copay programs, aligning with existing reporting and including nuanced product information.
Provide regular updates to Sanofi leadership on program performance.
Manage relationships with copay assistance program vendors, ensuring high-quality service and alignment with company objectives.
Establish operational SLAs and KPIs to measure program effectiveness across the portfolio.
Develop and refine program business rules (BRD), SOPs, and KPIs.
Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
Conduct benchmarking and analysis of Sanofi programs versus other in-market offerings to establish a best-in-class standard.
Ensure development of the appropriate business process within Sanofi’s CRM system.
Be an active leader on the Affordability COE leadership team as we build a best-in-class patient experience model.
Serve as a leader for change.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field required.
10+ years of experience in affordability program management, patient support services, or related field within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Experience in patient support services, healthcare management, call centers, or a related area within the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong understanding of market dynamics, policy implications, and best practices in patient affordability and access.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MBA, MFin) preferred.
5+ years in a supervisor role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Experience working in cross-functional roles and collaborating with senior leadership and Alliance partnerships.
Experience leading leaders, and motivating teams.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement improvements.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
