
Director of Engineering

A growing engineering and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to support and expand its Florida Water practice. This leadership role blends technical oversight, team management, and business development within the municipal water and wastewater market across Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
- Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall project performance.
- Mentor Project Managers and engineering staff to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and private utility clients statewide.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities; lead proposals, scope development, and client presentations.
- Collaborate with internal infrastructure, transportation, energy, construction inspection, and planning teams to provide integrated solutions.
Projects will include water distribution and wastewater collection systems, pump stations, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and infrastructure rehabilitation programs.
Travel: Approximately 10–30%.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience, including strong knowledge of the Florida municipal utility market.
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-discipline teams.
- Proven client development and project pursuit experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required; multi-state reciprocity a plus.
