Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Human Resources Service Center of Excellence (SCE) serves approximately 2,000 staff within the Division of Finance and Operations (F&O) and Campus Safety and Risk Management, a combined organization whose annual budget is more than $500 million. The HR SCE has a campus-wide impact through functions that include classification and compensation, salary administration, recruitment, onboarding and separations, benefits and leave administration, policy and procedure administration, employee and management relations, and reporting and data management.

Position Summary “INTERNAL ONLY: Internal posting for permanent, time-limited, layoff priority employees of UNC -Chapel Hill, and temporary employees hired directly by UNC -Chapel Hill only.”

Hybrid: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.

This position provides professional human resources services to the Service Center of Excellence ( SCE ) for the Division of Finance and Operations (F&O), Institutional Integrity and Risk Management ( IIRM ), and designated other units of the University. These divisions include approximately 2,000 employees with an overall budget of more than $500 million. This position performs core HR functions for employees in designated departments, including recruitment and onboarding, classification and compensation, employee and management relations, and payroll/leave/benefits administration.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Management Preferences Must be team oriented with a willingness to learn new things. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and its components. Working knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft, Concur, BuyCarolina, Docusign, Pcard and SharePoint.
