The Business Development Sales Representative will play a key role in driving revenue growth and market expansion for UES within the Overland Park and greater Kansas City AEC market. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients across the geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing (CMT), and environmental consulting sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of the regional architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) ecosystem, including developers, contractors, engineering firms, and public sector stakeholders. The representative will proactively position UES as a trusted partner by aligning client needs with the company’s capabilities in subsurface investigations, construction materials testing and inspection, environmental services, and site development support. UES delivers integrated solutions through three core practice areas: Environmental and Earth Sciences, Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions, and Geophysical Technologies. These services support the full lifecycle of land development and infrastructure projects and include geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and special inspections, environmental assessments and regulatory compliance, building code compliance services, and advanced geophysical imaging and subsurface mapping technologies. Together, these capabilities help clients reduce risk, ensure quality during construction, and successfully plan and deliver complex infrastructure and site development projects. Success in this role requires the ability to build strong industry relationships, understand local market dynamics, and translate technical service offerings into value-driven solutions for clients. Responsibilities

Drive business development activities to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets established by the Area Manager and Regional Growth Leader. Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the regional AEC market, including developers, contractors, engineering firms, and public agencies. Collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and technical teams to align client needs with UES service offerings and project capabilities. Generate qualified leads and expand the sales pipeline by identifying new projects, referrals, and cross-selling opportunities across UES service lines. Maintain a consistent presence in the market through networking events, industry associations, client meetings, and site visits. Utilize CRM and sales planning tools to track leads, manage client interactions, and monitor sales performance. Coordinate with internal teams to support proposal development, RFP responses, and vendor prequalification submissions. Follow up on proposals and project opportunities to support successful project capture and client satisfaction. Maintain regular communication with leadership. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in a marketing discipline (or equal combination). Ability to foster and maintain good relationships at all levels, with prior supervisory experience. Comfort with industry technologies, as well as standard office and collaboration software. Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to deliver and communicate goals, programs, and solutions. Highly adaptable with exceptional listening, reading, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, environmental consulting, or related services. Established relationships within the Kansas City / Overland Park AEC market. Experience working with RFPs, RFQs, and proposal development in professional services. This position requires occasional travel, approximately 20% to 30% of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on‑site work. Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment. The role requires frequent communication with internal teams, clients, and industry partners, both in-person and through virtual platforms.
