Utilities Superintendent

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Manager, Utilities Division and be responsible for all aspects of project, managing on-site crew, production timelines, and safety for civil and underground utility projects. Projects will primarily be for Utilities construction but not limited.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall project planning, performance and execution – including scheduling, safety and quality, efficiencies.

Build and maintain excellent relationships with all members of the project team, clients, contractors and consultants

Ensure the project meets the agreed to deliverables

Managing all Field Supervisors

Conducting site inspections

Enforcing safety programs

Ensuring quality control

Manage all reporting requirements, including keeping Senior Management informed of progress

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction

Post secondary education

Familiarity with Utilities and Rail corridor construction is preferred

Able to employ engineering/construction plans/specifications methods and procedures

Leadership experience supervising unionized crews

Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills

Must be able to read, write and speak English

Proficient with MS Office, including MS Project

Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with many different people including senior managers, clients and field personnel

Able to problem solve

Hours: Monday to Friday, Occasional Saturday, possibility nights Full-Time Hours
