
Engineering Director: Lead Full-Product Lifecycle

We’re looking for an Engineering Director to take ownership of product development and drive multiple in-progress products through final launch. This role is focused on leading a hands-on engineering team while bringing structure, accountability, and momentum to the full product lifecycle. You’ll step into an environment with strong technical talent in place and provide the leadership needed to move projects from near-complete to market-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full product lifecycle from design through testing, certification, and production launch
Drive product development efforts to completion, ensuring timelines, priorities, and deliverables are aligned
Oversee and mentor a team of engineers and designers, providing direction and accountability
Manage engineering change processes (ECI/ECM) and maintain organized product documentation workflows
Coordinate with manufacturing to support assembly processes, sourcing, and production readiness
Qualifications
Proven experience leading engineering teams in mechanical product development environments
Strong background in electromechanical product design (equipment such as lift systems, winches, or similar)
Demonstrated success bringing products from development into full production launch
Experience managing engineering change processes and product lifecycle systems
Proficiency with SolidWorks, FEA tools, and PDM systems
Experience supporting sourcing of parts and manufacturing assembly processes
Familiarity with UL or CSA certification processes
Strong leadership, organization, and execution skills with ability to run day-to-day engineering operations
