Pupil Personnel
Manage the development and implementation of the district attendance policies for Knox County Public Schools.
Ensure home visits, 3‑day letters, final notices, court filings, CDW information get completed. Follow up with students and families before and after court. Make sure all documentation is accurate and adequate to file. Make sure students have completed community service as well as other court stipulations and review folders before court.
Review attendance daily, weekly, and monthly for each school and review student attendance.
Attend, plan and conduct training for Infinite Campus for DPP staff and all school staff for appropriate and needed yearly, Beginning and End of Year training in IC. Relaying pertinent IC information and updates to clerks, counselors, principals, directors, etc. in a timely fashion.
Get truancy cases in court as soon as possible.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of all student records.
Monitor drop‑out data, ensure that drop‑out surveys are completed by school staff.
Make appropriate referrals for students.
Home Hospital
Maintain and update state and local policies regarding home hospital students.
Inform parents and staff about Home Hospital guidelines. Process applications; communicate with doctors’ offices, and medical personnel for decisions, and monitoring of students.
Monitor Home Hospital teachers and their duties.
Track students as they transition on and off of Home Hospital.
Communicate with schools and special education and 504 staff to insure the students get appropriate educational services while on Home Hospital instruction.
Home School
Oversee and record Home School applications.
Meet with parents, students, and families to discuss Home School guidelines.
Track all Knox County Home School students.
Visit home schools to ensure appropriate use of state guidelines.
KCLA/KCDT/KAS/KECSAC
Make appropriate student referrals to programs.
Hold parent conferences, to discuss attendance, behavior, grades, and all factors for attending KCLA/KCDT.
Write yearly grant for KECSAC/KCDT and other grants as needed or necessary.
Ensure all staff has appropriate Professional Development for KCLA/KCDT and Children’s Home Staff.
Infinite Campus
Maintain all areas of Infinite Campus as appropriate as the system administrator.
Trouble shoot problems for all schools.
Submit support tickets for issues and maintenance of IC data.
Monitor and maintain all attendance; discipline; transportation; households; health data; FRYSC data; calendars; retention data; enrollment and withdrawal data; ADA; demographic data, etc.
Ensure all yearly data is end dated and rolled over into upcoming school year.
Adjust user rights as needed.
Trouble shoot parent/student portal.
Attend, plan and conduct training for Infinite Campus for DPP staff and all school staff for appropriate and needed yearly, BOY, EOY, training in IC. Relaying pertinent IC information and updates to clerks, counselors, principals, directors, etc. in a timely fashion.
FRYSC District Contact
Meeting with FRYSC Coordinators monthly or as needed.
Data submission/upload of FRYSC information to KDE, FRYSC Green System, and Infinite Campus.
Review/Approve Purchases/Travel Etc.
Ensure appropriate training and professional development is completed.
Ensure all state regulations are followed.
Ensure that FRYSC monies are appropriately spent according to the state guidelines.
District Health Coordinator
Monitor and report district health data.
Work with school nurses.
Monitor school screening.
Order and maintain supplies for all school nurses.
School Resource Officers
Ensure required training.
Support them during and after school with student issues and emergencies.
Liaison between Sheriff department and BOE.
All/any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
