What does this role look like? Ignite identifies, develops, and transitions advanced capabilities focused on our Space Enterprise internal and external customer needs. This program management director leads a pipeline of on‑orbit demonstrations, proof of concept studies, and end‑to‑end capability demonstrators. The success of the portfolio is based on providing an integrated end‑to‑end set of capabilities to provide demonstrations as a service for our stakeholders. Successful execution and value delivery is based on a foundation of repeatable, fast, risk‑managed approaches that optimize resources and processes to deliver results.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.

15+ years of technical and leadership experience.

Demonstrated experience leading new technology development, prototype development, and/or demonstrations including strategy development, planning, driving emerging technology maturation & risk reduction.

Experience as formal program manager (cost, schedule, and technical) for government or commercial contracts.

Experience working with internal and external customers including securing new business and executing IRAD and/or CRAD.

US Citizen and currently possess and be able to maintain a US TOP SECRET clearance (Able to obtain SCI), and successfully pass a drug and background check to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills

15+ years of technical and leadership experience with demonstrated expertise in strategy development and systems engineering, mission payload or platform products, and delivery of integrated hardware/software solutions.

Demonstrated ability to develop technical talent and to build technical pipelines to sustain technical expertise within the organization.

Full Spectrum Leadership skills that demonstrate ability to lead employees to perform productively and foster relationships in a cross‑functional team environment.

Experience leading product development through assembly integration & test, launch campaigns, and on‑orbit commissioning.

Proven experience as a conceptual thinker with the ability to translate into action and results, working across finance, contracts, strategy & business development, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, ATLO, supply, quality, and mission success.

Diversity of customer experience and exposure across Space or other Business Areas.

Proven strategic communications skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management.

Extensive internal and external professional network.

Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: TS/SCI.

Compensation and Schedule Annual base salary range for most locations is $180,000 – $309,120. Salary may vary by state and work location. The role is full‑time onsite with a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off). Benefits include incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
