We started by the intake interview where we sought to determine his suitability for the major. This entailed asking him questions that allowed us to determine his preparedness and enthusiasm towards the course. During the interview, it was evident that the student was highly prepared for his course of interest. Firstly, his academic qualifications were above the needed minimum entry requirements. His mastery of the basics related to the course was excellent. Apparently, he had performed extensive research on what the major entailed. He also answered all the questions asked by the panel satisfactorily. For example, his ability to express himself concerning questions such as the reasons why he wanted the course, his strengths, weaknesses, and biology-related questions were excellent. Therefore, intake interview panel recommended him for the course based on his responses by awarding him a score of 90% over the overall 100%.Assessment Results The next step was the administration of assessment tests that could enable us to determine his suitability for the course. The tests could also enable us to determine his personality and cope with the needs of the course or not. The three assessment tests administered included Myers-Briggs, Work Importance Profiler, and Ambition Test. The first test to be administered was the Myers-Briggs test, which focuses on assessing one's personality. It aims at acquiring information on issues such as one's ability to relate to others and handle different situations presented to him or her. His nature scores were 40% thinking and 60% feeling. His tactics scores were 81% judging and 19% prospecting. Finally, his identity scores were 70% assertive and 30% turbulent. The occupations that appeared fit for his personality included being an athletic trainer, social and human service assistant, recreation worker, travel guide, occupation therapy aid, respiratory therapist, teacher assistant, occupational therapist, health educator, and physical therapist. Other occupations included home health aide, dental specialist, special education teacher, and social worker. These were in alignment with his dream of becoming a physical therapist. The third assessment administered to the student was an ambition test. This test aims at determining the level of ambition in an individual and possibly the efforts they are likely to put to achieve the stated goals. The snapshot report of the test showed that the student lives in a supportive family environment. It supports his ambition of becoming a physical therapist. The family encourages him to achieve great things in life and keep trying whenever he fails. Currently, the student is yet to reach his goals, and he must use his inner strength and motivation to achieve them.
