Parts Counter Specialist Full-Time | Automotive Dealership $45K–$60K annually

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Parts Counter Specialist to join our team at an authorized Ford Motor Company dealership. This role plays a critical part in supporting service technicians and retail customers by ensuring accurate parts identification, efficient order fulfillment, and an exceptional customer experience using genuine Ford parts and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Assist retail customers, service technicians, and sales representatives in identifying and sourcing the correct automotive parts efficiently and professionally

Provide product recommendations, including companion parts and current promotions, to maximize customer value and sales opportunities

Answer incoming calls, offering accurate price quotes, availability, and product information

Pull, fill, and process parts orders while maintaining accurate inventory control

Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages or urgent needs

Source and order out-of-stock parts from external vendors, including emergency orders when necessary

Track and follow up on back-ordered and special-order parts; notify service advisors and customers upon arrival

Manage will-call, back-order, and return files; restock or return unclaimed items in a timely manner

Process internal parts requests and bill accurately to service repair orders

Handle retail transactions, including payments, credit authorizations, invoicing, and returns

Maintain organized and accurate records of repair orders, invoices, and special orders

Coordinate daily shipping, delivery, and customer pick-up of parts

Ensure front and back counter areas are clean, organized, and professional in appearance

Stay up to date on new products and industry developments through training and manufacturer programs

Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards promptly

Maintain consistent attendance and reliability

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Experience in a high-volume automotive dealership or parts environment

Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and maintenance needs

Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills

Clear and effective communication abilities

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-driven mindset

Proven ability to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Professional appearance and demeanor

Previous dealership or related experience preferred
