The Adventist Education Complex (Berean Christian Junior Academy and Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy) located in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a dynamic, spiritually grounded, and highly motivated professional to serve as a

Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director , with a primary emphasis on developing a strong K–12 physical education program and building a competitive, character-driven basketball program.

This is a unique opportunity for a visionary instructor who is passionate about student wellness, athletic excellence, and Christian education to make a lasting impact on students and the school community.

Physical Education

Develop and implement a comprehensive, standards-based K–12 physical education program utilizing North American Division (NAD) approved curricula

Promote lifelong fitness, health, and wellness through intentional instruction and student engagement

Integrate the Creation Health curriculum to support the development of the mind, body, and spiritual well-being of students

Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction that supports student growth, skill development, and overall wellness

Athletic Leadership

Provide oversight of the

school’s athletic program

Coordinate sports schedules, events, and compliance requirements

Foster a culture of

sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline

Basketball Program Development (Priority Area)

Build and grow a competitive varsity basketball program

Develop feeder programs at the elementary and junior high levels

Lead practices, conditioning, and skill development

Cultivate a program centered on excellence, accountability, and character

Required Experience

Demonstrated commitment to mission of SDA Christian values and an active member of Seventh-day Adventist Church

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Eligible for or holding denominational/state certification

Experience coaching basketball (preferred)

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a compassion

Ensures that the K-12 physical education and health curriculum demonstrates clear learning outcomes, the intentional progression of skills and competencies across grade levels, and bears the stamp of excellence.

Experience in athletic program development or leadership, preferred

Demonstrated ability to build and sustain successful teams

Experience working within a K–12 educational setting

Superb social and emotional skills with the desire and ability to forge productive relationships.

Broad experience and skills in fiscal management and planning in the context of complex budgeting.

Salary based upon the NAD remuneration scale, experience, education, and certification.

Must be a citizen or have the legal right to work in the USA
