Carriage Services is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Part-Time Video Editor to support our in-house multimedia efforts across a multi-state organization.

You’ll help shape compelling video stories for internal communications, training, recruiting, event recaps, executive messaging, and field-facing content, ensuring every delivery aligns with the brand, tone, and strategic goals.

This role is ideal for an editor who’s fast, collaborative, and confident, handling full post-production from raw footage to final exports.

Compensation:

$30 - $35 per hour

Primarily working from home but will be required to come to office as needed. 3040 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056

Your software/tools you edit with

Job Duties Video & Post-Production Editing (Brand visuals, voice, narrative)

Edit and assemble footage into polished videos that reflect Carriage’s brand and storytelling goals

Review shooting scripts, notes, and raw footage to create a shot/scene decision list that supports continuity and narrative value

Perform advanced editing tasks: cutting, trimming, sequencing, pacing, b‑roll selection, and narrative structure

Apply color correction and/or color grading, audio enhancement, basic cleanup/mixing, and finishing touches

Add titles, lower thirds, light motion graphics, and simple visual effects when needed

Ensure final edits match creative direction and objectives provided by the task owner

Project & Media Management

Manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines and communicating progress

Organize media, proxies, project files, and deliverables (clear naming/versioning)

Export and deliver platform‑ready versions (web, internal channels, social) in required specs

Conduct quality control (audio levels, captions if applicable, brand accuracy, export settings)

Work closely with the Senior Multimedia Specialist on priorities, timelines, and feedback rounds

Communicate clearly, ask the right questions early, and keep projects moving efficiently

Qualifications Required

Proficiency in

Adobe Premiere Pro

Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and attention to detail

Comfortable editing interviews, executive messages, event recaps, and training‑style content

Ability to take feedback well and iterate quickly

Dependable and organized, able to manage files and deadlines without hand‑holding

Preferred

After Effects experience (basic motion graphics, titles, lower thirds)

Color workflows (Lumetri, LUTs, basic grading)

Familiarity with Frame.io (or similar review tools), SharePoint/Drive/Dropbox workflows

Experience creating multiple cuts for different audiences/platforms
