What you will do:
Collaborate with the project team to develop and execute highly creative, themed concept designs from ideation through construction
Create compelling 3D renderings and design presentations with the team to communicate design vision
Coordinate with project consultants throughout all design phases
Design and specify custom furniture, products, and finishes that align with themed concepts
Direct art curation and collaborate with fabricators on custom installations
Produce accurate construction documents and technical drawings to support design implementation
Work closely with the Director of Themed Interiors to refine design concepts and ensure design intent is realized in built form
What we are looking for:
8-12 years of experience in highly creative projects, television/movie set design, commercial, or hospitality projects with Interior Designers/Interior Architects who can bring heavily themed concept designs into built reality
Based in Washington, DC metro area for hybrid work (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
Experience with concept ideation, renderings, custom products and finishes, furniture selections and custom furniture design, space planning, art curation, and art directing
Experience with custom fabrication and technological sophistication, large size projects or HQ experience
Excellent Revit/Smart Modeling, Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills (Rhino skills a plus)
Excellent 3D graphic rendering skills
Ability to work with the Director to develop strong design concepts and accurately document them in design presentations and construction documents
Experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, codes, and coordination with consultants
Available for regular out-of-state travel as needed by team
Fluent in written and spoken English
Valid work permit (USA)
What we prefer
Experience with design-build projects or large HQ projects
LEED and/or WELL accreditation
Progress towards NCIDQ Certification or Architectural Licensure
