
Medical Records Director

Villa at Silverbell Estates is seeking a Medical Records Director to join their team! The Medical Records Director assumes responsibility and accountability for patient health care records, maintains patient data, and supervises the employee within their department. They maintain a well-organized system of closed and open medical records so that records are available to interdisciplinary personnel as needed for resident care and other authorized activities.
Medical Records Director Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, timecards, and personnel issues in the department.
Receives and handles direct reports’ complaints.
Trains others to assemble admissions records and files, including electronically.
Retrieves records for use by administrative or interdisciplinary personnel for resident care, quality improvement, incident tracking and investigation and other authorized purposes.
Processes and monitors completion of physician telephone orders to authorize administration of medication, treatments, therapies, and other services.
Maintain confidentiality of all information in the medical record.
Audit charts for completeness.
All other duties, as assigned.
Medical Records Director Qualifications and Skills
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding, and indexing is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
Medical Records Director Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding, and indexing is required.
At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
