Director of Religious Education and Faith Formation: St. Clarence
The Church of Saint Clarence, a vibrant and active faith community of 2100 families located in North Olmsted, Ohio, in the Diocese of Cleveland, is seeking a full time Director of Religious Education/Faith Formation. The successful candidate will become an integral member of a dedicated and vibrant pastoral team implementing the vision of the Second Vatican Council in all areas of faith formation, in the life of the parish, with a concentration in Pre K through 8th grade. The selected candidate will be a person of vision, able to discern the needs of the Church in the local setting and the gifts of the community to meet those needs.
The development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the faith formation of our young people. Sacramental Preparation (First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation).
Engaging parents, families, and other members of the faith community in the developing faith of our young people.
Recruiting, training and supervising volunteers, including catechists and ancillary (non-classroom) personnel.
Selection of USCCB approved curriculum materials for each grade level. Maintaining of records for the sacramental and faith formation programs.
Sunday morning young disciples programming. (Children’s Liturgy of the Word).
Coordinate Safe Environment Protocols (Virtus).
Be a practicing Catholic
Have knowledge of Catholic teaching
Preferably have experience working with children, families and volunteers
Have strong organizational and communication skills
Desire to work collaboratively with other parish staff
Have the ability to work independently
Have a related degree or commensurate experience
