The Diocese of Portland is seeking to hire a Director of Risk Management to start June 1, 2026. The mission of the Office of Risk Management is to safeguard the tangible and intangible assets of the Diocese through effective risk financing, claims oversight for the self-insured program, and risk reduction strategies. The Director of Risk Management leads diocesan efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risk; oversee property, liability, auto, and workers’ compensation programs. The Director supports parish, school, cemeteries and other diocesan entities in maintaining safe environments and compliant practices. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years experience directing or serving a risk management program; a high level of customer service skills, as well as the ability to identify and quantify key hazard risks. Understanding and knowledge of insurance policies and coverage issues is also required. Knowledge of the Church structure and organization and an active practicing Catholic preferred.
