At Sixteen:Fifteen, we exist to help churches take their place in God’s global story. As we coach churches and mobilize leaders, we long to see missions move from being just a ministry of the church to the heart of the church.
The Director of Development leads the organization’s efforts to expand and sustain its financial base through donor relationships, foundation engagement, and church partnership giving. This role will design and implement a comprehensive development strategy that fuels Sixteen:Fifteen’s mission while deepening the spiritual partnership with those God calls to give.
Key Responsibilities
Build and implement a multi-year development strategy integrating major gifts, annual giving, foundation grants, and church partner giving.
Personally cultivate and steward a portfolio of high-capacity individual donors, church partners, and family foundations.
Collaborate with Operations and Communications to craft messaging, proposals, and campaigns that align with Sixteen:Fifteen’s mission and brand.
Lead grant prospecting and proposal development; maintain strong relationships with existing grantors.
Provide vision and structure for donor events, webinars, and communications that inspire generosity and partnership.
Develop and manage a donor pipeline using Bloomerang CRM; ensure accurate tracking, segmentation, and reporting.
Partner with the Director of Church Mobilization & Partnerships to align development efforts with church engagement strategy.
Represent Sixteen:Fifteen at conferences, donor gatherings, and key events.
Report regularly on progress toward annual fundraising goals and strategic benchmarks.
Ideal Candidate A spiritually mature, relationally gifted development professional with a passion for global missions. Skilled in both relationship-based fundraising and strategic systems building. Able to cast vision compellingly while managing details with excellence.
Key Qualifications
7–10 years of nonprofit development or advancement experience (faith-based preferred).
Proven success cultivating and closing major gifts ($10K+).
Working knowledge of donor databases (Bloomerang preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to articulate mission and impact clearly.
Strong organizational and relational intelligence.
Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE or similar credential preferred.
Alignment with Sixteen:Fifteen’s statement of faith and global missions focus.
