Trumbull-Brayman Joint Venture is seeking an experienced
Union Carpenter Foreman
to join our team on the
Montgomery Lock & Dam Project in Monaca, Pennsylvania , a major
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
infrastructure project with an
estimated 8-year duration . This position offers
stable, long-term work on a high-profile federal infrastructure project.
This is a
long-term, full-time leadership opportunity
on a large-scale heavy civil project involving structural concrete, dam and lock rehabilitation, and complex infrastructure construction. The Carpenter Foreman will supervise union carpenters and coordinate daily field operations while leading crews performing
concrete formwork, structural carpentry, and pile driving support activities .
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION Typical schedule is
Monday through Friday – approximately 40 hours per week , with
overtime available
based on project demands and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
This is a
union position , and the successful candidate will become a member of the applicable
Carpenters Union Local .
Compensation includes:
Union wage starting at $44.66 per hour based on experience
Overtime pay

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating field crews performing heavy civil construction activities while maintaining safe, productive, and organized operations. The Foreman is expected to serve as a
hands‑on field leader , capable of working alongside the crew while directing daily activities.
Responsibilities include:
Leading crews constructing
complex concrete formwork systems
Interpreting
construction drawings, specifications, and layout
Coordinating
pile driving support, rigging, and structural installations
Planning and assigning
daily work tasks to meet project schedule requirements
Managing crew productivity and maintaining efficient operations
Coordinating manpower, materials, and equipment with project supervision
Ensuring compliance with
company and USACE safety requirements
Maintaining high standards of
workmanship and quality control
Communicating with superintendents, engineers, inspectors, and other trades
Mentoring apprentices and journeyman carpenters
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Minimum
5 years of heavy civil carpentry Foreman/Crew Leader experience
Strong experience with
formwork systems and structural concrete
Ability to read and interpret
construction drawings and specifications
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Commitment to maintaining
safe work practices
Ability to work outdoors in
varying weather conditions
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a
Carpenters Union apprenticeship program, vocational school, or technical training
preferred
Recent and verifiable construction work history required
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed
outdoors on an active heavy civil construction site . Duties involve physical labor including lifting, climbing, bending, and working around heavy equipment and structural concrete operations.
SAFETY This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as‑needed basis.
