Intervention Specialist Mercer County Educational Service Center (ESC) – Celina, Ohio

Full Time Intervention Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year at the Mercer County ESC, Community Learning Center & Rose Academy.

The Intervention Specialist should be dedicated to supporting the MCESC mission of providing high-quality cooperative services that positively impact the diverse educational needs of students, staff, and community. The Intervention Specialist should also believe all students are valued, can learn and grow, and will become successful and independent adults. The Intervention Specialist should be committed to the whole-child approach, ensuring that regardless of their background, every student can navigate their unique obstacles to achieve lasting independence.

Essential Duties

Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction for students in grades 6-12, utilizing data-driven strategies to monitor progress toward individualized goals and state curriculum standards.

Provide targeted instruction and intervention for social, emotional, and behavioral needs, fostering a classroom culture that prioritizes mental wellness and personal growth.

Design and implement meaningful Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that include measurable goals, specialized instruction, and comprehensive supports tailored to each student’s unique trajectory.

Prepare and carry out clear, sequential daily lesson plans and educational materials adapted for a wide range of developmental, academic, and social/emotional needs.

Partner effectively with the school team, related service providers, families, and community agencies to ensure a "whole-child" approach to student success and post-secondary independence.

Establish a structured yet flexible environment that encourages resilience, self-advocacy, and collaborative problem-solving skills among students.

Provide vigilant supervision and take all reasonable precautions to ensure the physical and emotional safety of students at all times.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in special education.

Bachelor degree preferred.

Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
