Club Overview The Club's 18-hole championship golf course was originally designed by acclaimed architect Jay Morrish, Golf Course Architect of the Year in 1991, and is the only Northeastern course he designed. Position Overview The Assistant Golf Professional is an integral member of the Golf Operations Team and supports the daily execution of the Club's golf program. This position works closely with the Head Golf Professional and Lead Assistant to deliver an exceptional golf experience through attentive service, strong operational support, and consistent member engagement.
The Assistant Golf Professional contributes to the day-to-day success of the golf operation, including the golf shop, practice facilities, tournaments, and instructional programs. This individual serves as a key point of interaction for members and guests while upholding the Club's service standards and traditions.
Experience Required Experience and Qualifications
PGA Member or PGA Associate in good standing preferred
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience at a private club or comparable facility
Knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament operations
Demonstrated teaching ability and passion for player development
Experience with Golf Genius and tee sheet/POS systems (Jonas preferred)
Merchandising and retail experience preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a private club environment
High golf IQ and strong customer-service orientation
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Essential Responsibilities Member Experience & Daily Operations
Provide exceptional service to members and guests across all areas of the golf operation
Maintain a visible and engaged presence on the golf course, practice facilities, and in the golf shop
Assist with tee sheet management, starting, and pace-of-play oversightSupport enforcement of Club policies, etiquette, and Rules of Golf
Assist with handicap administration in accordance with USGA guidelines
Tournament & Program Support
Assist in the execution of Club tournaments, leagues, and member events
Support course setup, scoring, and event operations
Contribute to Men's, Women's, and Junior Golf programs
Utilize Golf Genius and related systems for tournament administration
Instruction & Player Development
Provide private lessons and assist with clinics and group instruction
Support junior golf programs, camps, and player development initiatives
Promote participation in instructional programs and Club events
Golf Shop Operations
Support daily golf shop operations including merchandising and sales
Assist with receiving, pricing, and organizing merchandise
Process transactions accurately through the POS system
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment
Operations Support
Assist with opening and closing procedures of the golf operation
Support golf car operations, practice facilities, and club storage
Collaborate with fellow golf professionals and other departments
Provide support to outside services and golf shop staff as needed
Club Engagement
Build relationships through regular, positive interaction with members
Participate in golf activities with members when appropriate
Represent the Club in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
