
Director of Kids' Ministries

To provide leadership and oversight for children’s ministries that focus on spiritual development and growth for children from birth through fifth grade in service to our church mission.
Scope of Work:
Championing children’s ministry issues with the staff, elders and the congregation
Providing recruitment, training and supervision of all support staff, including Interns
Selecting, planning and implementing curricula to be used by teachers
Providing planning and scheduling of weekly children’s ministry experiences and events that coincide with and support the larger church’s mission and calendar
Providing planning and scheduling of special experiences and events for outreach and for the spiritual growth of children and their parents, coinciding with the larger church’s calendar
Providing relevant and timely communication with the parents and the congregation with regard to ministry events, expectations, opportunities and/or reports
Working with the associate pastor to align children’s ministries with student ministries so as to provide spiritual and programmatic continuity
Building strong, trusting relationships with parents to support them as the primary disciplers of their children
Budgeting for the annual needs of the ministry thoughtfully, responsibly and sustainably
From time to time, working on special projects at the discretion of the associate pastor (as time permits and as may be necessary)
Qualifications and Skills:
A devoted Christian with a sincere personal faith, accompanied by an embrace of North Sub’s Statement of Faith, core values and marks of a disciple
A self-starter who values flexibility and thrives on a variable schedule
A team player who collaborates with staff and parents
An eager recruiter who can rally volunteers to serve
Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated children’s ministry or teaching experience preferred
Accountability:
Reports to associate pastor.
Remuneration:
Salaried with retirement match up to $1,500 and paid vacation leave.
