Job Summary The Marketing Technology Analyst manages the overall execution of Planet’s digital marketing strategy through the planning, configuration, deployment, and optimization of marketing campaigns. This role exercises independent judgment in evaluating campaign performance, troubleshooting system issues, interpreting customer behavior data, and recommending campaign adjustments to improve engagement, response, and lead generation outcomes.
The position requires a strong understanding of customer journeys, marketing automation systems, and CRM data structures. The Analyst evaluates system capabilities and limitations, makes informed decisions regarding campaign configuration and segmentation logic, and resolves technical or data-related issues with minimal oversight. This role serves as a subject matter resource to marketing stakeholders and provides data-driven recommendations to support business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the end-to-end build, configuration, testing, deployment, and reporting of email campaigns and lead generation initiatives. Makes decisions regarding audience segmentation, personalization logic, timing, and workflow structure to ensure accuracy, compliance, and performance optimization.
Oversees and validates CRM data connections used within marketing campaigns. Exercises judgment in determining appropriate data mappings, personalization logic, and troubleshooting data discrepancies across platforms to ensure accurate audience targeting.
Analyzes the MarTech data model and independently determines how cross-system data should be leveraged for segmentation, reporting, and personalized communication strategies. Identifies gaps or inconsistencies and recommends corrective action.
Develops, manages, and refines tracking mechanisms and marketing attribution components to support end-to-end measurement. Determines appropriate measurement methodologies and ensures tracking accuracy across channels.
Partners with Marketing leadership to implement and manage email and lead generation strategies. Evaluates campaign requirements and determines appropriate system configurations, workflow logic, and automation rules necessary to meet business goals.
Monitors and analyzes campaign performance data to identify trends, performance gaps, and optimization opportunities. Uses independent judgment to recommend campaign adjustments, new journey structures, or audience strategies based on findings.
Interprets analytics from digital campaigns and translates data insights into actionable system or campaign modifications. Determines when performance requires intervention and implements approved changes.
Builds, tests, and modifies marketing automation workflows. Exercises discretion in determining workflow structure, branching logic, suppression rules, and quality assurance processes.
Supports the development and configuration of new CRM fields, forms, and marketing system enhancements. Evaluates business requirements and determines appropriate system configuration approaches.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in marketing, technology-related or other business-related field required
Experience
Digital Marketing experience in the mortgage or financial industry preferred
Proven experience with developing and executing email marketing campaigns preferred
Functional/Technical Skills
Broad understanding of digital marketing strategies, techniques, and tools – including ability to work within marketing automation platforms to efficiently and quickly execute complex audience-based digital marketing campaigns through multiple channels including online advertising, email marketing, websites, and landing pages.
Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and recurring responsibilities
Ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement
Clear written communication skills and ability to maintain professional documentation
Self‑motivated, dependable, and proactive in monitoring work and resolving issues
Base‑level understanding of coding HTML/HTML5 using CSS; JSON knowledge a plus
Working experience using the following software (or equivalents):
Customer Relationship Management systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot)
Landing page & form builders (WordPress, Unbounce)
