Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Director of Production Operations with deep expertise in cannabis and/or hemp manufacturing. This role is responsible for leading all production functions including grinding, pre-roll manufacturing, oil infusion, and related processing operations.

The ideal candidate is both a production strategist and product expert… someone who understands not only how to scale throughput and manage teams, but also the science and handling of cannabinoids and terpene agents, including isolate, distillate, and terpene formulations. This leader will ensure our infused flower products are manufactured with precision, consistency, and premium quality.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership : Direct and oversee all daily production operations including:

  • Pre-roll manufacturing
  • Oil infusion processes
  • Post-production handling and staging
  • Develop and execute scalable production plans to meet demand forecasts
  • Optimize labor allocation, equipment utilization, and workflow efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production managers, supervisors, and floor staff
  • Oversee the proper use, storage, handling, and formulation of:
  • Cannabinoid isolates
  • Terpene blends and flavoring agents
  • Ensure infusion techniques enhance product potency, flavor profile, burn quality, and overall consumer experience
  • Establish SOPs for safe and consistent blending, dilution, and application methods
  • Partner with R&D and Quality teams on product development and formulation improvements

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all production processes meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement batch tracking, yield analysis, and process controls to minimize variance and waste.
  • Oversee sanitation, contamination prevention, and material storage protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on consistency, safety, and product excellence

Operational Scaling

  • Design systems and processes to support rapid growth in production volume
  • Identify automation and equipment upgrades to increase throughput and efficiency
  • Develop production KPIs and performance dashboards
  • Manage production budgets, material yields, and cost controls
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure adequate raw material availability

  • Partner with Quality, Compliance, and R&D on new product rollouts
  • Collaborate with Sales and Planning teams to align production with market demand

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in cannabis or hemp production operations
  • 3+ years in a senior production leadership role
  • Demonstrated expertise working with:
    • Cannabinoid isolate
    • Terpene formulations
  • Strong understanding of infusion techniques and how oil and terpene blends interact with flower material
  • Experience scaling production teams and processes in a fast-growth environment
  • Proven ability to build SOPs, workflows, and operational systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in extraction, formulation, or cannabis product development
  • Experience with automated pre-roll or infusion equipment
  • Knowledge of state cannabis/hemp manufacturing regulations
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Compensation:

  • $120,000 annually

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
