
Library Director – Now Accepting Applications

The City of Wabasha is currently seeking a full time Library Director for the Wabasha Public Library. This position is responsible for organization, management and development of library services as set forth by the Board of Trustees of the Wabasha Public Library in conjunction with the Mayor and City Council Members of the City of Wabasha. This is a permanent .90 position (35 hours per week), starting wage of $31.12 and includes a comprehensive benefit package which includes health care, vacation/sick, and retirement benefits.
- Administration: Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare mandatory reports for city and state agencies.
- Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise staff and volunteers; provide orientation and support for the Library Board.
- Collection & Tech: Curate library materials (purchasing/weeding) and maintain the SELCO computer system and digital resources.
- Community Engagement: Partner with local civic, educational, and governmental groups to promote library programs and services.
- Patron Services: Assist the public with research and technology while ensuring the facility remains safe and orderly.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years as a Librarian (or an equivalent mix of education and experience).
- Certification: ALA Librarian Certification is preferred but not required.
