
VP of Real Estate Investments

Our client is a leading global financial services firm. They seek a VP of Real Estate Investments to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
Foster and sustain strong working connections with REA investment personnel, joint venture collaborators, and property management groups
Execute financial diligence processes for acquisitions while coordinating across internal REA functions, external advisors, counterparties, JV stakeholders, and legal representatives
Deconstruct and evaluate variances across historical cost, tax basis, and fair value methodologies to generate a perspective on asset performance and valuation
Advise on appropriate accounting applications, delivering ongoing input regarding the rigor and completeness of deliverables
Examine periodic operating outcomes of investments for fund-level consolidation and valuation, acting as a key escalation channel for reporting discrepancies
Interpret financial reports and key return indicators tied to property investments
Liaise directly with third-party auditors and tax specialists
Assemble and assess reporting packages intended for leadership, internal audiences, and capital partners
Oversee third-party support resources, maintaining accountability for scope execution and timeline compliance
Requirements
8+ years of real estate accounting experience
Strong understanding of historical cost, GAAP, and FV reporting standards
Strong understanding of complex real estate investment structures, mortgage documents, development management agreements, partnership agreements, and purchase and sale agreements
