Position Overview
Pay range:
$63,875 - $103,800 / year

Job Description The Employee Relations Partner is the first point of contact for managers and employees, and serves as a strategic partner and consultant, providing guidance on employee relations issues, workplace investigations, policy interpretation, and performance management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as a resource and liaison for employee relations issues demonstrating a knowledgeable and comprehensive approach. Inspire trust and confidence with employees and leaders with the HR partnership.
Interprets and communicates HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure consistency and compliance; demonstrates understanding of entity specific as well as UAB Medicine policies and procedures.
Partners with department leaders to support performance management, corrective actions, coaching, and progressive discipline; coordinates resolution of conflicts between employee and leader.
Exercises sound judgment to determine when to escape complex employee relations matters to appropriate internal or external partners i.e., BTAM, UAB Police, EACC, Risk Management, Compliance, etc.
Drafts, proofs and finalizes documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy/legal requirements.
Maintains appropriate employee relations files and records.
Participates in sponsored events and activities to remain knowledgeable of employee relations climate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and three (3) years of Generalist or Employee Relations experience required. HR experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. The ideal candidate brings a balanced approach to both people and process, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
Preferred PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
