Our Ad Platforms team is dedicated to innovating advertising technology that enhances performance and value in Disney's sports, news, and entertainment sectors. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to be a key player in our AI/ML and data science initiatives. This role offers the exciting opportunity to harness advanced analytics and machine learning, shaping the future of advertising technology. What You'll Do: Drive innovation by applying data science to enhance various aspects of advertising, including inventory forecasting, ad experience, targeting, and efficient delivery. Transform business questions into analytical frameworks; swiftly develop data analyses and ML models to solve complex ad challenges. Create rigorous evaluation pipelines for generative AI technologies, covering visual generations and more. Establish and assess key performance metrics across product areas. Collaborate with generative AI specialists to optimize datasets for modeling applications. Develop Standard Operating Procedures for evaluations and labeling processes. Communicate actionable data insights to cross-functional stakeholders. Design and analyze A/B tests for improving machine learning algorithms. Maintain strong partnerships with product managers, engineers, and program managers to foster collaboration. What to Bring: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field. 5+ years of data science experience, ideally within internet or tech companies; advertising domain experience is a plus. Proven ability to create ML datasets and implement rigorous evaluation processes. Passion for generative media technologies and eagerness to learn. Solid grounding in data science and statistics, along with strong communication skills and business insight. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or R; familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau. Experience in building and deploying machine learning models confidently. Enthusiasm for understanding ad business dynamics and using data science to enhance effectiveness. Experience in developing data-driven applications for production environments. A track record of thriving in fast-paced, collaborative settings. Nice-to-Haves: Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) in relevant fields. Experience in digital video advertising or marketing. Familiarity with tools like Airflow, data warehouses, Databricks, or Sagemaker. The hiring range for this role in the Los Angeles area is $141,900 to $190,300 per year and in the Seattle area, it's $148,700 to $199,400 per year. Compensation reflects internal equity and may vary based on geographic location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
