Job Purpose
The Investments Intern will support the Investments Team in various aspects of investment analysis and research, portfolio management, and operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the institutional investment industry and develop skills of financial analysis, market research, and investment strategy while carrying out the Queen’s mission in serving the kamaliʻi. The Investments Intern will support the Investments Team in various aspects of investment analysis and research, portfolio management, and operations. Learning Objectives
Develop a foundational understanding of institutional investing and endowment management Strengthen analytical and financial modeling capabilities Enhance written and verbal communication skills Complete a research project, presented to senior leadership at the end of the internship
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in the analysis of investment opportunities, including financial modeling and valuation Conduct market research and gather data on industry trends and economic indicators Support the preparation of investment reports and presentations for internal and external shareholders Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization Collaborate with team members on special projects and initiatives related to investment strategy, operations and portfolio management Participate in meetings and discussions with external investment professionals to gain insights and knowledge
Other Duties
Adheres to internship program guidelines and supports department needs as assigned. Completes a variety of tasks that provide broad exposure to departmental workflows. Actively builds new skills, strengthens existing abilities, and applies learning to real‑world projects and responsibilities.
Qualifications
High school diploma and pursuing a college degree in related fields Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline Financial, investment, economic, and/or analytical work experience is preferred but not required Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools (preferred, not required) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings Demonstrated interest in the investment industry with a desire to learn and advance High level of integrity and commitment to serving the lāhui Relevant coursework in investment principles and strategies (preferred)
Work Schedule & Location
Estimated timeframe: June–July 2026 Weekly schedule: 35–40 hours per week Location: Onsite / Liliʻuonamoku 1100 Alakea St. Honolulu, HI 96813

Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze financial data, perform valuations, and create financial models is crucial. This includes proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn to use other software. Attention to Detail: Investment interns need to be meticulous in their work to ensure accuracy in financial reports, data analysis, and market research. Communication Skills: Both written and verbal communication skills are essential. Interns should be able to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations and effectively communicate their findings to team members and stakeholders. Confidentiality: Confidentiality of LT’s investment holdings is required given the nature of the work and relationships.
