Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Digital Payer Integration is responsible for the operational leadership, execution, and continuous advancement of HCA’s digital payer integration capabilities across the enterprise. This role leads teams responsible for the design, development, deployment, and support of scalable external integration solutions with commercial payers and strategic partners.

Reporting to the AVP of Digital Payer Integration, the Director translates enterprise payer integration strategy into actionable roadmaps, prioritized delivery plans, and measurable outcomes. This role ensures that digital connectivity solutions — including APIs, FHIR-based integrations, EDI transactions, interoperability solutions, and automation-enabled payer workflows — are delivered with quality, security, scalability, and measurable business impact.

Major Responsibilities

Operationalizes the enterprise digital payer integration strategy established by the AVP.

Develops and executes multi-year roadmaps aligned to business priorities and measurable financial impact.

Oversees end-to-end lifecycle of digital payer integration solutions including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Ensures solutions adhere to enterprise standards for API, FHIR, HL7, and EDI transactions.

Drives interoperability solutions aligned to CMS interoperability mandates and industry best practices.

Ensures compliance with HIPAA and related regulatory standards.

Works with business stakeholders to establish KPIs and performance dashboards to measure business impact.

Maintains strong relationships with executive and operational leaders across HCA.

Provides enterprise consultation on digital payer connectivity best practices.

Leads, coaches, and develops high-performing technical teams. Implements continuous improvement initiatives across integration workflows.

Partners with ITG Enterprise Architecture and Information Protection to ensure secure integration frameworks.

Supports vendor selection, evaluation, and contract performance management.

Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement. Performs other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need

Bachelors Degree required

Master's preferred

Eight or more years of Information Technology experience required

Five or more years in a leadership role managing technical or integration teams required

Experience in a large, complex healthcare provider or payer environment preferred

Experience with API, FHIR, HL7 and EDI standards preferred

Understanding of CMS interoperability regulations preferred

Up to 25% travel required

Licenses, Certifications, & Training

Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (i.e. HIPAA, 21 CRF Part 11, GCP)
