Job Title Entry Level Lab Analyst

Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Analyst to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in conducting BTU method testing, determining the calorific value of fuels, wastes, and materials. The role involves manually running analyses, monitoring and recording results, and entering data into lab software. You will work with water samples 99% of the time and soil samples 1% of the time. This position offers a flexible work schedule between 6 am and 12 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

Perform sample preparation, digestion, and testing for various water samples in accordance with Safe Drinking Water, Clean Water, and RCRA programs.

Ensure compliance with current TNI and NELAC standards.

Accurately document laboratory activities using bench sheets or LIMS entries.

Process electronic data while ensuring data integrity and security.

Manage individual samples and schedule tests to meet required holding times and turnaround times.

Operate and maintain bench‑top instruments effectively.

Review and countersign logbooks, notebooks, worksheets, and LIMS entries as needed.

Dispose of laboratory waste in compliance with disposal guidelines.

Perform and document daily standardizations, calibrations, and performance checks on lab equipment.

Follow all company procedures, including safety protocols and electronic data security.

Handle hazardous materials safely according to lab policies.

Assist in training or supervising specific lab procedures as designated by QC management.

Identify and investigate unusual lab events or results.

Conduct testing to support method validations and transfers.

Monitor reagent and supply inventory.

Carry out and document preventive maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.

Clean laboratory glassware and maintain overall lab cleanliness.

Participate in weekly team meetings.

Provide support as a role model for work ethic and quality.

Essential Skills

Strong documentation skills.

Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Proficiency in using laboratory software.

Competence in bench chemistry and sample preparation.

Clear communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma required.

Science education background preferred, especially in Biology or Chemistry.

Strong computer skills to train on specific lab software.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit Lakes, MN.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00 /hr.
