Job Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Lead Biochemist
to join our Formulations team supporting RNA‑LNP development efforts. In this role, you will apply advanced biochemical and analytical techniques to characterize RNA‑lipid nanoparticles, support formulation development, and perform hands‑on laboratory work. In addition, you will take on leadership responsibilities, including team oversight, performance coaching, and fostering a positive, high‑functioning work environment.
Key Responsibilities Scientific & Technical Work
Perform biochemical and analytical testing on RNA‑LNP formulations using techniques such as: HPLC, Solo‑VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI‑AC, viscosity measurements
Support formulation preparation for RNA, proteins, and buffers
Apply GLP principles and maintain high‑quality documentation in an electronic lab notebook
Assist with lab organization, equipment cleanliness, and workflow optimization
Support experimental execution in alignment with established protocols, methods, and SOPs
Leadership Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and oversight for a team of biochemists
Participate in interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
Support scheduling, coverage planning, and shift performance
Deliver clear communication of priorities, expectations, and administrative updates
Promote Eurofins values and foster a collaborative, high‑morale team environment
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in operations, workflow, and data quality
Balance hands‑on lab responsibilities with leadership and team development
Qualifications Required
B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences
(or related field) with
3–4 years
laboratory experience OR M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences
(or related field) with
1–2 years
experience
Experience with
RNA, mRNA, siRNA, or RNA‑LNP formulations
Proficiency with chromatography and related separation techniques
Hands‑on experience with
HPLC
Demonstrated leadership ability—training, mentoring, or leading a team
Strong troubleshooting skills and a continuous‑improvement mindset
Ability to design experiments, interpret data, and maintain accurate records
Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and within a cross‑functional team
Preferred
Experience with cellular or in vitro assays
Experience working with biologics such as peptides or monoclonal antibodies
Direct management experience
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction
