
Mechanical Piping Designer

ColonialWebb is hiring an in person Mechanical Piping Designer that will be responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical piping hydronic and refrigerant systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical piping principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to complex commercialpiping systems.
This is an in-person position that will report to our corporate location in Richmond, VA.

A day in the life:
Coordinate and work efficiently and in accordance with plans and specifications, and ColonialWebb fabrication standards; advise the respective Project Manager as conflicts occur
Document and provide marked‑up submittals to Project Manager showing any modifications, or discrepancies related to inline duct and piping devices.
Monitor and report to the respective Project Manager when coordination and detailing require work not indicated on the contract drawings.
Attend job meetings as requested by the Project Manager
Generate full coordination drawings and provide all necessary paperwork to complete the task.
Provide clear, dimensional, and accurate drawings.
Visit job sites as necessary to complete work assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
You should have:
Ability to read and understand contract drawings, specs, and submittals.
Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm when handling emergencies
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. Unscheduled overtime may be required, as necessary.
Possess field experience as a construction sheet metal mechanic or sheet metal foreman.
