Join Taft as a Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist and leverage your extensive knowledge to uphold our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction in the intellectual property field. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of IP docketing for U.S. and international portfolios, focusing on trademarks, patents, and domain names. Prepare and disseminate detailed docket reports to attorneys and legal teams, ensuring timely adherence to all deadlines. Maintain and audit the docket database, updating filing due dates and reminders as necessary. Utilize your expertise with the docket database to produce customized reports and implement required system upgrades. Assist in the intake and auditing of all transferred intellectual property files. Facilitate clear and accurate communication with clients, ensuring precision in electronic case records. Stay informed about trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes impacting IP procedures. Engage with the USPTO and relevant trademark jurisdictions to confirm deadlines and filing requirements. Identify areas for policy and procedure improvements, helping to enhance the overall efficiency of the Docket Department. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, renewal, and enforcement processes. Proficient in docketing software (e.g., Pattsy, CPI, Foundation IP, Anaqua). Strong knowledge of intellectual property laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels. Familiarity with U.S. Patent terminology, prosecution procedures, and deadlines for both domestic and international IP matters. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Outstanding organizational skills with strong problem-solving capabilities. Able to prioritize tasks effectively and perform well under pressure. Capable of working independently with initiative and self-direction. Experienced in handling confidential information with discretion. Qualifications: Some education beyond high school is required; a Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience is required.
