Position Overview
Sanofi's Biomarkers & Precision Medicine group, within the Translational Medicine Unit, seeks a senior-level ad Biomarker and Precision Medicine Lead who can shape organizational strategy and drive innovation in biomarker development and precision medicine approaches. This data-driven position focuses on leading the development and implementation of decision enabling translational medicine strategies for our robust pipeline in Immunology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Rare Diseases. The role is critical in identifying and validating biomarkers that predict patient response, demonstrate molecular activity including target engagement and impact on disease pathophysiology, as well as leading forward and reverse translational research activities.

Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Drive biomarker and precision medicine strategies across multiple projects and therapeutic areas Shape long-term vision for biomarker implementation in drug development programs Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholder decisions Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and technologies in biomarker development Guide resource allocation and investment decisions for biomarker programs
Scientific Excellence & Innovation
Serve as the primary scientific authority in disease biology and biomarker development on project teams Drive innovation in biomarker strategies and precision medicine approaches Lead the evaluation and implementation of novel technologies Guide the development of complex biomarker algorithms and patient stratification strategies Provide strategic input on indication selection and project prioritization to enable portfolio decisions
Team & Organizational Leadership
Manage and develop a team of biomarker scientists (2-3 direct reports) Mentor junior colleagues and foster talent development Build and maintain strategic external collaborations Represent Sanofi at high-level scientific forums and industry meetings Drive cultural transformation and operational excellence
Program Oversight
Oversee multiple programs across different development phases Ensure alignment between biomarker strategies and overall program goals Guide decision-making at critical program milestones Lead interactions with senior management and external partners Manage complex budget and resource allocation across programs
About You
Required Qualifications:
PhD with at least 8 years of experience in translational and/or clinical research. Will consider MD w/PhD (or equivalent with similar skill set) Recognized expertise in Immunology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, or Rare Diseases Extensive track record of successful biomarker strategy implementation Demonstrated leadership experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry Strong publication record and scientific reputation in the field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing teams and developing talent Track record of successful external collaborations Experience with regulatory authorities and health technology assessment bodies Due diligence experience Advanced project management skills
