Marine Electrician – Military Vessel Project (2‑Year Contract)

Pay:
$32.19/hour + $150/day per diem (7 days/week)
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to support a long‑term Military Surface Vessel (MSV) contract. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to the construction and outfitting of new military boats, working hands‑on with complex electrical systems in a shipyard environment.
This is a stable, 2‑year contract offering competitive pay, daily per diem, and the opportunity to work on mission‑critical military projects.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret work specifications, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Install and route electrical cabling throughout vessels (no live terminations)
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems and equipment
Perform basic electrical testing and equipment checks
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Write detailed work reports and coordinate material orders
Identify and report any abnormal safety or mechanical conditions
Required Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of electricity and basic electrical theory
Experience with AC/DC electrical systems
Proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics
Skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues
Experience with wiring, installation, construction, and electrical terminations
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a shipyard or marine environment
Knowledge of conduit sizing and routing
Ability to work independently or as part of a small team
Physically able to lift 60+ lbs
Work Environment
Work performed inside and aboard new construction military vessels
Frequent exposure to dark, confined spaces
Loud environment due to active machinery and ongoing construction
