
Remote SAP S/4HANA Architect for Federal FICO & P2P

SAP Architectural Runway Consultant.
Leads the analysis, design, and implementation of S/4HANA Foundational Modules . Acts as a key functional architect to translate complex federal accounting requirements into scalable S/4HANA solutions, integrating modules such as FICO, PSM, D&S, P2P, EVM, AM, CM and OM. Collaborates with stakeholders to define detailed product requirements and use cases, ensuring that the system supports real-time visibility into development lifecycle.
The Functional Consultant is responsible for leading system analysis, end-to-end configuration, and cross-functional integration. Responsibilities include:
Lead Requirement Gathering & Design: Analyze and design new S/4HANA business processes, facilitating design workshops and serving as the primary liaison between the business community and the technical team. Execute S/4HANA Configuration: Perform hands-on configuration across assigned modules ensuring alignment with the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) architecture. Technical Collaboration: Work closely with technical counterparts (ABAP Developers, BASIS, Middleware) to ensure that process enhancements and interfaces meet all functional requirements and federal compliance standards. End-to-End Testing & Validation: Write and execute comprehensive test plans (Unit, System Integration, and User Acceptance Testing) and coordinate stakeholder validation to ensure solution accuracy. Cross-Stream Synchronization: Manage integration points between workstreams, for example such as Procure to Pay (P2P) for commitment tracking and Order to Cash (O2C) for revenue recognition. Deployment & Support: Support process deployment activities, including data migration of historical balances, cutover planning, and post-go-live hypercare.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven experience with one of the following FICO, PSM, D&S, AM, QM, TM, EWM, P2P. D&S (Defense and Security). Strong understanding of S/4 HANA. Proficiency in Business Process Re-engineering, with the ability to translate legacy business rules into modern SAP "Fit-to-Standard" processes. Excellent communication skills, capable of facilitating workshops and advising business owners on change management aspects.
Federal-Specific Requirements: Experience with Federal Audit Readiness (FIAR) and internal control frameworks.
