Overview System One is seeking a skilled

Industrial Electrical Designer

to support heavy industrial and manufacturing projects. This role is responsible for developing electrical designs, supporting engineering activities, and collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver high-quality, reliable systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial power systems, controls, and electrical design tools, along with the ability to contribute both in the office and in the field.

Responsibilities

Support heavy-industrial and manufacturing projects through electrical design and project engineering activities

Develop detailed electrical design drawings and documentation using CAD-based tools

Prepare and review electrical design packages including:

Power distribution systems

Grounding systems

Lighting systems

Control systems

Perform electrical load calculations and select appropriate equipment

Size cables and specify protective devices in accordance with applicable standards

Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and Automation teams to ensure integrated system design

Support testing, inspection, and commissioning activities to verify installation and compliance

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during project execution

Participate in site activities and field execution to support project success

Research and evaluate new electrical and automation technologies to improve system performance and reliability

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in industrial electrical design and documentation

Strong knowledge of:

Power distribution systems

Motor control systems

Industrial automation

Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (EPLAN experience is a plus)

Working knowledge of industrial electrical standards such as NEC and NFPA

Experience with PLC-based control systems (Siemens preferred)

Familiarity with industrial communication networks such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and Ethernet

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and plant personnel

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Willingness to support onsite and field activities as needed
