Portfolio Manager, Europe North & West, Regional Portfolio Management - EMEA
Amazon, Nashville, TN, United States
Job ID: 3193962 | Amazon UK Services Ltd.
Work hard, have fun, make history. That's what we do every day at Amazon. Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region manages an extensive corporate office portfolio encompassing approximately 10 million rentable square feet (RSF) spread over 43 countries, 86 cities, and 139 buildings. GREF's EMEA operations are organized into five geographical regions or 'Geos,' mirroring the operational and reporting structures of Amazon's key business units, aligned with major Amazon organizations such as 'AWS', 'Stores', 'Devices', and 'FGBS'.
Amazon's GREF team is seeking a Portfolio Manager who will align real estate delivery to business needs in partnership with key GREF stakeholders while maintaining a customer‑centric approach. The role will partner with Amazon teams and functions including Public Policy, Public Relations, PXT, Finance, and Talent Research & Development. They will also collaborate with internal GREF teams including Global Strategy, Global Business Partnering, Space and Occupancy Planning, Global Construction and Design, and Sustainability & Engineering. This partnership supports the alignment of workplace design, space and site performance, and customer needs for the Geo to drive business productivity and efficiency. This role will support Geo 2: Europe North & West, which oversees six countries, 17 cities, 30 buildings, and 2.1MM RSF. This position requires the candidate to be based within this specific geo, facilitating direct and efficient support for GREF's operations in the region.
The ideal candidate is an experienced and engaging professional who excels in entrepreneurial environments – providing vision, leadership, and communication while not being afraid to dive deep into details and take ownership. They must be approachable and consultative, providing direction and recommendations while fostering transparent relationships. The candidate must balance frugality with creativity in offering solutions and approach problem‑solving with an emphasis on root cause analysis. An ideal candidate can navigate high levels of ambiguity and demonstrate a bias for action, taking calculated risks in a fast‑paced environment.
At Amazon, we believe that in‑person collaboration is essential to our culture and innovation. While we allow flexibility for personal circumstances, we generally expect employees to work from our offices five days a week. This approach has consistently shown that spontaneous interactions, rapid problem‑solving, and the energy of in‑person teamwork lead to better results for our customers. In particular, our data shows that teams working together in person are more effective at making complex decisions, onboarding new team members, and fostering the kind of creative collaboration that has driven Amazon's success. The serendipitous hallway conversations and impromptu whiteboarding sessions that happen naturally in an office environment have proven invaluable to our invention process and maintaining our high bar for excellence.
Key Job Responsibilities
