The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary This position has the sole responsibility of overseeing all fundraising and development for the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Develops and implements the organization's fundraising plan to meet annual fund and capital improvement goals

Creates budgets for all organizational revenue sources

Identifies donors and creates solicitation strategies with chaplain and key volunteers

Maintains accurate and detailed donor files and databases

Seeks funding through grants

Oversee two special events annually

Oversees all donor communications including brochures, newsletters, proposals, gift acknowledgements, personal notes, and tax information

Coordinate Advisory Board

Manages the website and social communications

Meets regularly with the chaplain and staff

Responsible for tracking all information on donors (personal information and donation and relationship history)

Responsible for tracking all revenue sources

Job Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business and/or communications

Two to three years of development experience preferred

Solid understanding of fundraising concepts including annual funds, capital campaigns, major gifts, direct mail, special events and planned giving

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the capability of inspiring confidence and enthusiasm with volunteers, prospects, and donors

Confidentiality and discretion with donor information

Advanced computer software proficiency, including Microsoft Office

Proficiency in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook

Proficiency in maintaining a website

Familiarity with the Catholic Church preferred

Ability to work independently

Comfort in working in an ever-changing, last-minute environment

Must have a work style that is flexible and collaborative with the chaplain

Must be able to interface effectively with the Archdiocesan Finance Office

Must be able to work effectively and inspire confidence in key volunteers including the Advisory Board
