ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified Intervention Specialist for Ginn‑Thompson School for Girls in Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on supporting students with Individualized Education Programs, fostering academic excellence and social‑emotional growth.

About the Opportunity The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students and works directly with classroom teachers, students, families, and administrators to implement individualized instruction and behavior plans.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities, assist in classroom intervention strategies, modify general education curriculum, and help students complete class assignments.

Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.

Conduct functional behavior assessments.

Write and implement behavior improvement plans.

Facilitate IEP meetings, write IEP goals and objectives.

Work diligently to meet all student achievement and culture goals, including state‑specific objectives.

Utilize research‑based best practices in daily planning and instruction.

Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.

Serve as a designated adviser for a set of students.

Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.

Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities such as social events and field trips.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of state standards and Common Core standards.

Experience working in full‑room inclusion or co‑teaching in a resource‑room model.

Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.

High‑quality written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.

Excellent organization and time‑management skills.

Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.

Pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).

Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.

Benefits

Salary range: $44,500.00 – $55,000.00 (geography, experience, and qualifications considered).
