We are seeking basketball experts with deep knowledge of the NBA to audit and refine sport‑specific metadata for a curated set of pre‑labeled NBA game videos. The project involves reviewing 30 NBA game videos (approximately 20 minutes each) and ensuring that associated metadata accurately reflects the specific prompts and cues provided for each video. This role is ideal for individuals with advanced knowledge of NBA gameplay, strategy, terminology, and situational basketball.
Data Scope
Data Type: Pre‑labeled NBA game videos
Volume: 30 videos
Length: ~20 minutes per video
Task Type: Metadata auditing, validation, and refinement
Key Responsibilities
Review pre‑labeled NBA game footage for accuracy and completeness
Audit sport‑specific metadata tags (e.g., play types, offensive sets, defensive schemes, player roles, fouls, game situations, shot clock context, possession details, etc.)
Ensure metadata aligns precisely with the unique prompts / cues associated with each video
Identify labeling inconsistencies, missing tags, or incorrect classifications
Refine and correct metadata to ensure high domain accuracy
Provide structured feedback on systematic labeling errors or edge cases
Maintain consistency in tagging logic across all videos
Required Qualifications
Deep knowledge of NBA rules, gameplay mechanics, and terminology
Strong understanding of offensive systems (e.g., pick‑and‑roll, isolation, motion offense, horns‑sets, etc.)
Strong understanding of defensive schemes (e.g., man‑to‑man, zone, switch‑heavy defenses, drop coverage, traps, etc.)
Strong understanding of game situations (e.g., clutch time, late‑game execution, out‑of‑bounds plays, transition vs half‑court, etc.)
Strong understanding of foul identification and officiating mechanics
Prior experience in one or more of the following: coaching (high school, collegiate, or professional); competitive playing experience; basketball analytics or film breakdown; scouting or broadcast analysis
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to follow structured annotation guidelines
